The Parish of Our Lady of Peace in Marmolejo has a history dating back to the 14th century, when it was known as the Parish of Santiago de Marmolejo. The current structure of the church was built in two phases: first, the central nave, influenced by the Gothic style and dating from around 1588, was erected, followed by the addition of the transept and Baroque dome, which were completed around 1613. The main façade and tower were added between the 18th and 19th centuries.

This bridge was designed by the Jaén master stonemason Benito del Castillo, with the aim of connecting the town center of Marmolejo with the surrounding mountain ranges.

Strategically located on the border between the provinces of Jaén and Córdoba, near one of the branches of the ancient Roman road that followed the course of the river, this castle presents two clearly distinct stages in its history.
